Born in Colombia, Cesar Valdes is a contemporary artist and educator known for his interdisciplinary work exploring the relationship between production sites and social factors. He blends natural and industrial materials to express his personal history and perspectives on life.
Cesar gained experience as a self-taught artist through community projects, including mural paintings, short films, and workshops. He attended the National University of Colombia in Bogota where he received his BFA. After graduation, he traveled to the US to further his education. He received his MFA in 2020 from The Mason Gross School of the Arts and was awarded the Giza Daniels-Endesha Award for Outstanding Performance in Art & Design.
Cesar’s work has been featured in various exhibitions and has participated in several residencies, including the residency at the Anni and Josef Albers Foundation.
